I have over three decades of experience on stage as a stand-up comedian, headlining all the top comedy clubs in the UK and at festivals all over the world. A Humanist wedding ceremony can be anything you want it to be. Just because your Humanist wedding ceremony will contain no religious elements doesn’t mean it won’t be profoundly meaningful and 100% personal to the two of you and to all your invited family and friends.

I also offer something quite unique. On top of my celebrancy, I have a specialist (and I think fairly unique) optional add-on. As well as my comedy, I’m also a singer-songwriter and for a small extra fee, I can write a bespoke comedy song based on your love story, which I can perform after the service. What can we do in our wedding ceremony?

The answer is you can have your ceremony exactly how you would like it. Many Humanist wedding ceremonies will include some kind of ritual element, such as hand binding or an exchange of rings. Often, there will be one or two guest readers who will come up and read a poem or even song lyrics that mean a lot to the couple. It is quite common to have an interlude with some live or recorded music. The whole thing will be tied together by the celebrant, in this case, me. I will tell your guests the story of your love for each other in a way that can be as light-hearted or as serious as you wish. I hope to help you create a wonderful day that you and your guests will never forget.

What is the cost?

My fee will include meeting you both, either in person or in an online chat. I will create a bespoke ceremony script based on your love story and plan with you all the elements you would like in your ceremony, and of course, I will officiate on the day, ensuring everything goes smoothly.

My fee for the full service from start to finish is £900 (plus travel and accommodation costs if necessary).

If you would like me to write a short comedy song about you both and perform it on the day, I charge £350* (*I will also give you a recording of the song to keep).
